Location: Gary SD, is a small rural community located in Eastern South Dakota just across the Minnesota border. Gary’s population is only 230 and is approximately 3 hours West of Minneapolis Minnesota (MN) or 1.5 hours North East of Sioux Falls SD.

Airports: Sioux Falls SD regional airport is most commonly used. Minneapolis MN International and Watertown SD are sometimes used based on student travel needs. Watertown SD is a regional facility with limited service provided Great Lakes Aviation.

Lodging: The Buffalo Ridge Resort, beautifully restored Herrick Hotel is located right in Gary SD. For facility and reservations information, go to For alternative lodging, consider Canby Inn & Suites, located 15 miles South East in Canby MN or Lakewood Inn, located 14 West in Clear Lake SD.

Restaurants: Several facilities are located in and around Gary SD. In Gary, the Rock Room Bar and Grill and the Alibi Cafe are available. The Stateline Bar and Grill and Shady Beach Supper Club are just a short drive away at Lake Cochrane.

Class Location: ENSA classes are held at 129 Main Avenue in Gary SD. There is a 120′ V15 series Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) located at the facility. It’s hard to miss as it’s the only WTG in town! Use the rear parking lot next to the WTG for parking and to gain entrance into the ENSA classrooms use the South East facility door. Wireless is available.

Class Times: ENSA classes start promptly at 0800 a.m. and continue until 5:00 p.m.

Dress: Work clothing is appropriate as the practical exercises are performed indoors in a heated shop and weather permitting they maybe outdoors. Safety shoes are mandatory.

Nice to Know: Sunday and Monday. evening arrivals limited dining considerations. You may wish to stop on way! Brookings SD from South, Granite Falls MN from East or Watertown SD from the North West.

Departures: Please consider class time when booking return flights. Classes are scheduled until 5:00 p.m. With the aforementioned travel times to airports, please allow yourself enough time to travel to your destination after 5:00. You may consider traveling to airport city the night of last class and then taking an early morning flight.
