Why is the Harken PowerSeat™ so safe?
The Harken PowerSeat™ is designed to be completely safe, and because operation is so straightforward it is fully controllable. The fail-safe brake system ensures that it is impossible to go into free fall. It operates using a fail-safe dead man’s switch to control ascent speed, and descent control is carried out manually ensuring that you can always go down. The operator is protected by a robust frame and the encapsulating jaw cover ensures that fingers and clothing can’t be caught. In an emergency the PowerSeat™ can be evacuated safely and left behind, since the operator is already clipped to conventional harness equipment.
The PowerSeat™has been tested in the most extreme conditions and has proved to be a valuable tool in a conventional climbing operation, providing that extra degree of safety. Using the PowerSeat™ reduces fatigue and chafe, and eliminates suspension trauma.
The PowerSeat™ load rating allows for a safe working load of 273 kg, which means it can handle a two-person load in rescue situations.
Is the Harken PowerSeat™ a cost-effective solution for your business?
Even the most experienced operator’s working day is restricted when working at height, in a conventional harness, which leads to eventual discomfort. Not so when using the Harken PowerSeat™. Its comfort and support means you can significantly extend the working day, saving substantially on operational costs and wage bills. The Harken PowerSeat™ soon provides a good return on investment. A broader spectrum of physical abilities in the workforce can now work at height too.
What are the safety standards?
The Harken PowerSeat™ is CE certified to the Machinery Directive (and independently verified by Bureau Veritas).
