On-Site Training – To the Point, Pragmatic, Strong Practical Content – Authorized individuals working at height usually work as a member of a small group, each responsible for the other in all matters of safety and well being. We ensure that each team member understands and can deliver what is required to stay safe and affect a rescue or provide assistance should the need ever arise.

ENSA fosters an informed awareness of the importance of the “safety culture”. This approach and the development of an individual’s ability to recognize and appreciate the need for adequate training specific to task underpins ENSA’s training programs (this is essential at all levels from CEO to Authorized).

Training Needs Specific to Wind Energy

The nature of the wind turbine design requires specialized access solutions (cranes, suspended platforms, rope access even helicopter for offshore) which in turn must have pertinent safe work and rescue procedures that are specific to task.

ENSA professionals work directly with employees and managers in designing, developing, deploying and delivering (4D) world-class training that results in a safety culture that supports the corporate mission. A fully customized program tailored to each client and their unique needs.

As part of our training program development we encourage members of the company’s training department to participate in the design, development and validation of specialized courses and programs ensuring all task-specific needs are met. Under ANSI Z490.1 ENSA programs are developed around continuous 360º evaluation process ensuring effective instructional content, resources and presentation.

ENSA Projects -Within the wind Industry, access to a turbine must be granted with a full understanding of the complexities and limitations the environment presents. One of the primary
requirements for granting access to a turbine must be the employee’s proficiency in conducting emergency rescue.

ENSA projects approach is not specific to any one particular means of access, but to an approach that emphasizes the correct means of access, that is suitable to the immediate environment.

Understanding the relationship between safety and performance and the importance of ensuring that risks are kept as low as reasonably practicable is fundamental to the ENSA approach. As Site Safety Professionals, ENSA technicians implement documented and controlled safe work procedures that address all safe access and rescue needs based on the means of access required and the skills and abilities of those authorized to carry out the operational tasks.

ENSA offers organizations flexible training and support solutions for projects carried out at height. Safety supervisors & lead safety technicians can ensure organizations contractor and sub-contractor safety compliance and education.

In addition ENSA project teams are available to operate under complex access and advanced rescue environments within rope access or suspended access fields.

Suspended Platform – The collaboration between Safway’s new wind specific stages, World Wind Services extensive technical abilities and ENSA’s rope access and safety compliance management is delivering projects on time, on budget, and done right the first time.

Personal Evacuation Technology – ENSA and Deus Rescue are jointly developing a sea change in super lightweight personal evacuation technology and methodology.

Wind Tech Colleges and ENSA Programs – Technical Colleges are partnering with ENSA North America using ENSA courses for their height safety and confined space components. Graduates enter the work force ENSA certified with strong practical skills and safety culture awareness that stresses re-certification and the acquisition of new skills throughout their wind tech working life.

ENSA trainers assist managers committed to the development of an effective Occupational Safety Program. The result is a the creation of a low risk safety environment that will be maintained, as low as is reasonably practicable, anywhere within the parameters of the wind farm while delivering their organization the highest quality service in a safe and environmentally considerate manner.

ENSA’s Occupational HS&E management “4D” program design, development, deployment and delivery conform to the best practices detailed in the following consensus standards and regulatory guidelines (partial list):

  • ANSI Z10, Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
  • CSA Z1000, Occupational health and safety management (Canada)
  • OHSAS 18001, Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series,
  • ISO 14001, Environmental Management Systems
  • ANSI 490.1, Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training
  • NFPA 70E, Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • ANSI Z117 , Safety Requirements for Confined Spaces
  • ANSI Z359, Fall Protection
  • OSHA 19 CFR 1910 and 1926, SHARP Guidelines, VPP Guidelines

The programs are specific to corporate HS&E activity and tailored to Wind Energy requirements. ENSA professionals will assist with OSHA SHARP and VPP certification.
